Weather Update: Delhi Records Below Average Temperatures and Rainfall

On Sunday, the minimum temperature in the national capital was recorded at 23.4 degrees Celsius, which is three degrees lower than the normal range, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).


During the 24-hour period ending at 8:30 AM on Saturday, Delhi experienced 36 millimeters of rainfall.


The IMD has issued a 'Yellow Alert' indicating the possibility of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms throughout the day. The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 31 degrees Celsius, with relative humidity recorded at 97 percent as of 8:30 AM.


Air Quality Index in Delhi

According to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the Air Quality Index (AQI) was measured at 69 at 9 AM on Sunday, falling within the 'satisfactory' category.


The CPCB categorizes AQI levels as follows: 0 to 50 is considered 'good', 51 to 100 is 'satisfactory', 101 to 200 is 'moderate', 201 to 300 is 'poor', 301 to 400 is 'very poor', and 401 to 500 is classified as 'severe'.
